Thanks for the Awards!

Through the Blog Hop, I have met some great new friends and cool bloggies and new friends have checked out my blog. Special thanks to Romance Puppy and Macy's Puppy Tales for awarding me with this Versatile Blogger Award!

There are rules for accepting this award. (1) Thank the blogger who gave you this award. In this case two bloggers - lovely Sallie from Romance Puppy.

And the cute Golden puppy Macy from Macy's Puppy Tales:

2) I have to share 7 things about me. Okay here goes:

  • I am a big kisser. I lick your face, your arm, your leg, and not just sweet little kisses but giant lick the skin off your face smooches. When I send you Yoda Smooches, you need to understand what it really means.
  • I live with my mom and dad in a house that has a pond in my backyard and I go swimming a lot.
  • I am a stick-aholic. I see you with a stick and I have to take it. If you throw it I will chase it but I won't bring it back. I usually chew and destroy the sticks.
  • I have four kitty sibs but they do not like me much. I try to play with them but they are not interesting. So maybe playing to me (65 pounds of Yoda chasing poor little 12 pound kitty) is a little scary to them.
  • I have an older brother dog and my mom's mom's dog that live in the house but downstairs. By brother Goliath has to live downstairs because he has bad arthritis. Neither Goliath nor Roscoe (would he be my uncle?) like to play with me because I am old and bigger than they are.
  • I love chewing on bones. My favorite are piggy hooves. I also like the treats in the Big Red Bag by Merrick from Best Bully Sticks. Merrick makes the piggy hooves too and I get them from Best Bully Sticks too.
  • I also love toys. I am real hard on my plush toys (I eat them) and do tend to destroy most of my toys. But, I have some real good ones and my favorite store is Nip and Bones. My pal Baby Patches is the Chief Kit of that operation.
Now Rule 3 is to list fifteen bloggies I have recently discovered that I think are fantastic. Fortunately the Blog Hop has brought 15 new bloggies to me to bestow this award to. If I give you this award and you have just won it and done your post, just thank me. No one should have to keep finding 15 new bloggies to honor! (This also makes it easier for me so I don't have to do due diligence to find bloggies that haven't already gotten the award). AND, if they hadn't just given me the award, both Romance Puppy and Macy's Puppy Tales would be on this list for sure!

My blog roll is getting really long (110). Mom said it took two hours to read a week's worth of blogs and check out some new ones on the hop. There were 104 bloggies on the Hop this week! And we have not checked them all out yet. If you are one of my regular readers, please check the ones listed above out. It's worth it!

Well, Yoda Smooches to you all (and maybe you all have a better idea of what that means now)!

The Sunshine Award

The Shibbering Cheetos have awarded my bloggie the Sunshine Award. I am not sure if I am more honored to win the award or to have it bestowed upon me by the most famous anipal band in the universe. (I would have said "world" but after this weekend;s SciFiPawty, it's definitely the universe).

The award goes to a blogger who fills your like with sunshine. After this winter, we sure need all the sunshine we can get! And, I am so honored that I was selected. The rules for accepting the Sunshine Award are as follows:

1.Put the Sunshine Award flower logo on your blog or within your post
2.Pass the award onto 12 bloggers who fill your life with Sunshine
3.Link the winners within your post
4.Leave a comment on their blog letting them know they've received the Sunshine Award
5.Post these instructions so they'll know what to do!

The logo is in this post and I am going to put it on the side of my blog in a place of honor as well. The next part is hard because some of my favorite bloggies that we read all of the time and enjoy have already won the award. In fact, I noticed today that the flower pictures were popping up all over my bloggie roll. I have made the best effort to not select bloggies that have already been honored but if they haven't accepted the award, what could I do. I even checked out a couple of my pals who also won to make sure I didn't pick their honorees. As mom and her government people would say, I did my due diligence!

Here go my 12 favorites (in no particular order):

The Shenanigans of Shawnee the Shepherd by @ShawneeShep - I think Shawnee's was the first bloggie we started reading on a regular basis and it was because we saw on Twitter about the big trip to deliver @BusyButtons to her forever home. Then we started reading about all of the wonderful hiking Shawnee does with her mom so it is our absolute favorite blog. Mom got to meet Shawnee and her mom on her way home from the Shorty Awards. I was so jealous. Shawnee and her family also do a great job with product testimonials and mom and me are working to be better bloggers with them as role models.

Confessions of the Plume by @BabyPatches - Baby Patches is a really sweet kitteh but I love her best because her momma has my most favorite store - Nip and Bones. Mom buys me really cool toys there. I love reading about the Chief Kit's duty at the store - kind of a behind the scenes look at running a business.

Albert the Cat's Blog by @Albertthecat - Well, no one would say that Bert is a cheery bloke but his escapades and the way he talks about his family always make us laugh. And, he seems to be an anipal that can write posts as long as mine.

Teeny's Friends by @TeenysFriends - While I had been following Teeny for a while on Twitter, I got to know him better when we were both DJ's for the Winter Olympics Pawpawty. I learned more about all the work Teeny and his organization does to get toys to needy anipals. Even a shelter animal's life can be made better with a toy! So he brings lots of sunshine to needy anipals not just me.

Call Me The Breeze by @Kittehboi - I love his bloggie and his Yellow Snow post still makes me chuckle. I was also taken with his tribute to Laika, the first Russian Cosmonaut. I am glad there is a space program but I don't like the idea of sending animals to space without being able to get them back home.

Rockum Sockum's View On Things by @RockumSockum - We love reading about Rockum's large animal family. There is so much love in that house. I like that each animal gets their day out with mom and a couple of double cheeseburgers too.

Shelter Diaries - I actually don't even know if they are on Twitter. This blog does not bring us happiness. In fact it always makes mom and me cry. Like just now when we looked at the updates on some of the posts. But the sunshine goes to the animals at the Shelter in Texas where this man volunteers and brings love and kindness to animals, many of whom are eventually euthanized. We wish we could adopt them all. It is hard for us to read about it but this man goes back time and again and I know his heart must break.

Fido & Wino by @FidoandWino - Shauna just moved their blog from Blogger to Wordpress with their very own URL. We love reading about Mickey and Kayloo as well as Shauna and her husband.

Cleo's Day by @GrouchyPuppy - I never really thought @GrouchyPuppy was that Grouchy (certainly not in Albert the Cat's league), and we really enjoy Cleo's bloggie. Cleo introduces us to a lot of Grouchy's friends which is fun. Besides, I really enjoyed the post about the dog hair song.

King's Meow by my brofur @Caesar_OSkeezix - Okay so this one is a little self-serving. There is no secret that there is no love lost between me and my kitteh sibs through no fault of my own. Well no fault that I can control since I can't help it that I'm a dog and I'm big. So I am hoping this will be a peace offering of sorts. I must say I am still laughing about Caesar in his Jabba the Hutt costume.

The Days of Johann, an agility dog! by @JohnannTheDog - I thoroughly admire all that agility stuff and now that they are opening up agility events to doggies whose papas were rolling stones like mine, I aspire to learning the agility stuff. Well, just as soon as I learn to stop jumping up on mom.

Lou, Mama's Boy by @LouPeb - Since I have been on Twitter I have run into a number of dogs that look a lot like me. Lou was the first one I noticed. That's why I started with the "Papa was a rolling stone" comment (ok it's a musical reference since I'm a DJ - "wherever he laid his hat was his home" meaning he really got around and had a lot of families). I enjoy reading about Lou and his sisfur Pebbles.

Well that's my award winners. Now I need to post on their bloggies they have won and give them the rules.

Empire State of Mind

Mom is enjoying herself in New York City. She had a great dinner with @BZTAT (aka @BrewskieButt's mom), @FrugalDougal's staff, @BayChildCare and @Tildatoo. Their waitress took this picture.

From left to right, mom, Lynn @BayChildCare, Theresa @Tildatoo,
Vicki @BZTAT and Lynn @FrugalDougal's staff.

I like this picture of @FrugalDougal' staff

Theresa @Tildatoo and Vicki @BZTAT

Tonight is the Shorty Awards so wish them luck. Since mom's competition is @NASA she is not planning on winning but she hopes to get some good publicity for Virginia State Parks. It was also a not to miss opportunity to meet some of our Twitter friends!

Course I had to give this post a title from a song since I am a DJ. Here is a link to the song: http://blip.fm/~m3zw3.

Honest Scrap Award

I am so thrilled to have won this award I am writing my blog within ten minutes of the notification! Thanks so much to my good friend @CathyKeisha, World's Most Stunning Cat, for bestowing this great honor upon my humble bloggie. Cathy is a fellow DJ and music lover.

About the award

I actually did a Google search on the award because I am a curious dog and there were more than 7 million entries. I am actually pretty good at math so since the award requires you give it to 10 more bloggers (although I saw some places where it said 7), I could see it could grow geometrically. But nowhere could I find (or figure out a search to find) where it all started. I do know that it is wider than the anipal community.

Wherever it started, the award is given to "bloggers who put their hearts on display as they write from the depths of their soul."

The requirements for the award are to

(1) Highlight the award on your blog and link back to the person (or cat) who gave you the award. Not only am I dedicating this post to the award, I have permanently added the award to my side column. And I can't thank @CathyKeisha and her wonderful blog enough.

(2) Tell everyone ten things about yourself that no one knows

(3) Bestow the award on ten other worthy bloggers and make sure you tell them they have been so honored.

Ten things about me

Since I write from my heart, I tell you folks a lot about myself so I have been racking my brain to try and come up with things you don't know. Here goes:

  1. I bark too much. Any person or animal I see approaching the house or come near the door to the room I am in gets barked at. A lot.
  2. I jump up on people. Mom tried very hard to break me of this habit but dad likes it so I still do it. Mom keeps telling dad that they can train me to only do it if invited but no luck yet on that.
  3. When my mom comes home from work I go crazy for five minutes including jumping and running around the room like a crazy dog.
  4. I am a shameless food beggar. Lately I have added a pitiful whine. This is one thing mom and dad does right. They do not reward this behavior. For some reason I keep doing it anyway.
  5. I don't really like to ride in the car. I like going places I just don't like the trip there. When I was a puppy I stayed on the floor of the passenger side under dad's legs and it was okay then but when I got too big for that it wasn't fun anymore. On long trips I get better after about a half hour.
  6. I pull at my leash something fierce even though I have a head collar.
  7. I hate to get my picture taken.
  8. I like to eat cat poop. Mom and dad have gated the doorway to the bathroom where the cat littet box is so the cats can get under the gate and I can't get in.
  9. I only follow my obedience commands when there is a treat involved.
  10. I lick my mom's fingers when she is trying to type on the computer and I want her to play with me instead.
Award Worthy Blogs

In no particular order, here are the next winners of the coveted Honest Scrap Award. I apologize if you have won before. I did do a search on your blog to check.

1) Confucious Cat: I only learned of his blog and #Purrs4Peace because I was DJing at a #pawpawty one Sunday at 3 p.m. That week we were purring for the plight of racing greyhounds. Now I join in every week.

2) I only hesitate to bestow the award on the next recipient because he may get mad at me. But what the heck - you are certainly putting your heart on display when you try to talk folks out of reading your blog. Yes, the next recipient is Sir Fudge Esq. He's not for everyone but he tells it like he feels it.

3) The Shenanigans of Shawnee the Shepherd is great about sharing his wonderful park visits. Since my mom is in the park business, this is a blog we both enjoy reading.

4) My friend Dolly's blog is also great. The Little Dog Speaks is honest and compassionate. She speaks her mind. I really loved her 2009 in review blog.

5) Next is Boris Kitty: 4 Paws for a Cause. Of course I love @BorisKitty but I also love Edgar!

6) I enjoy Mulder the X-Kitteh but he hasn't been posting a lot probably because of his chemo and all those pills he hates to take.

7) Petie the Cat has not been blogging much either but he has had health challenges as well. He and Mulder are great fighters and I admire them.

8) Next comes Fido and Wino This blog always makes me and mom laugh! We love reading about Mickey and Kayloo and their mom Shauna.

9) Call Me the Breeze is another one of my favorites by fellow DJ @kittehboi.

10) Last but not least is Rockum Sockum's View on Things. He has an absolutely amazing family and I love reading about it and seeing the pictures.

Thanks again for this great honor!
