I'm on Fursbook

Many of my friends probably know that I recently created a Facebook Page. I still have my Facebook profile but technically it is illegal for a non-human to have a Facebook profile. I am not sure why Facebook discriminates against anipals but they do. I confess my new page has not had the enthusiasm I had hoped and that's because they work differently and the interactions with friends is just different.

My pal @kittehboi got kicked off Facebook some time ago just because he suggested that Facebook create something special for our pals. Dogbook and Catbook just isn't the same. So, @kittehboi decided to do it himself. Using Ning, he started Fursbook.

Mom had a Ning account for her work but hasn't done much with it. However, she knows it is powerful because she is a member of GovLoop which is a social media network for folks who work for the Government and it is built with Ning. Ning charges a small fee to have an account and then you pay more to get more features. @Kittehboi set up a Chip In account and as of today he raised enough money to get the really cool features for Fursbook.

So I would like to invite my pals to check it out and join. You still have to lie about your age. Those government people are just trying to protect children, but othewise this is an anipal friendly and completely free site. But, it will only be fun if we all sign up!

While I like kitties, don't get me wrong, there are decidedly few doggies on Fursbook right now so please, doggie pals in particular, PLEASE sign up. No offense kitty pals!

Thank you @kittehboi for starting this great social network just for us anipals!

Anipal Photo Hunt #5: BLOG PAWS

We didn't go to Blog Paws because mom just got back from BarkWorld and we had vacation planned, but Cokie said I could share pictures of me blogging so that's what I'm doing to participate in the Anipal Photo Hunt this week.

Okay, so maybe I am micro-blogging in this picture since I was using Twitter.

If you haven't joined in the fun of the Photo Hunt, it's lots of fun and a way to find new friends with blogs. You can read the blogs or click on the Instructions tab to find out how to join in by clicking the Anipal Photo Hunt button below. All my friends always have such great pictures to share that I hope they will play the weekly hunt too.

Anipal Photo Hunt #2: Pawtraits

Since mom is in Georgia and I am in Furrginia this post was going to be hard. But we were sitting and waiting for Cokie to post the Photo Hunt theme and when he did darned if that hotel free internet did not start acting up. You can ask Boris Kitty's mom - she was actually using some bad four letter words.

Well I guess if someone had to beat me it could be my special friends Buttons and Shawnee.

For some silly reason mom keeps pictures of me that do not turn out right. Good thing she kept this one because it would have been a little hard for her to take a picture of my paw (like Buttons' mom did), us being in two different states right now.

Here I am playing with my bungee toy that Shawnee sent me when mom met her on the way back from the Shorty Awards. Obviously I was in great need of a pawdicure here.

See how bony my leg is? I had to go to the V-E-T this week and that's what she said. We had a little scare because the groomer found a growth of some kind on the back of my elbow. The nice V-E-T lady tested it and said it was okay - just gooey fluid from me rubbing my bony legs on hard surfaces.

The groomer story reminded mom of that Chet the Dog book and what a coincidence, she met the man that writes the story for Chet at BarkWorld Expo and he signed a copy of Dog On It for me and her! We have lots to tell about BarkWorld but that will have to come later!

Empire State of Mind

Mom is enjoying herself in New York City. She had a great dinner with @BZTAT (aka @BrewskieButt's mom), @FrugalDougal's staff, @BayChildCare and @Tildatoo. Their waitress took this picture.

From left to right, mom, Lynn @BayChildCare, Theresa @Tildatoo,
Vicki @BZTAT and Lynn @FrugalDougal's staff.

I like this picture of @FrugalDougal' staff

Lynn @BayChildCare and Theresa @Tildatoo

Theresa @Tildatoo and Vicki @BZTAT

Tonight is the Shorty Awards so wish them luck. Since mom's competition is @NASA she is not planning on winning but she hopes to get some good publicity for Virginia State Parks. It was also a not to miss opportunity to meet some of our Twitter friends!

Course I had to give this post a title from a song since I am a DJ. Here is a link to the song: http://blip.fm/~m3zw3.

The Anipal Olympics #Pawpawty

In celebration of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, the monthly #pawpawty was a tribute to the Olympics. The anipals all donned their special costumes. Sometimes I think that's my favorite part. This is my skiing avatar.

My pal @FergustheDog filmed me in a practice run on the slopes. Don't worry - some really hot Saint Bernard sweeties came and rescued me as I was eating myself out of the avalanche. This is a photo of one of them. Anyway, I got to DJ for the midnight EST time slot. This theme was pretty tough for the DJs although as usual I think we all did a good job. First time DJ @TeenysFriends blipped songs from various Olympic athletes personal playlists. @BunnyJeanCook blipped songs by the artists that appeared in the Vancouver Opening Ceremonies and @CathyKeisha had contests between artists from different countries performing the same song. Since there is always so much happening at the #pawpawty and my set was a little subtle, I wanted to share my playlist with you all. Aw shucks, I'm copying something @kittehboi did a couple of pawties ago. What can I say? You know they do say it's the sincerest form of flattery.

I started with the Vancouver Winter Olympics 2010 Theme Song ♫ "Winter Games" Stylus Mirek Rosh.

The Olympics are about the world coming together. In this song rappers from 21 countries around the world sing "World Peace Blue Olympics Remix."

Olympic Athletes start our as Dreamers ♫ "Dreamer" Supertramp.

An athlete has to be Hungry to win "Hungry Like A Wolf" Duran Duran

No matter how hard you work, "Only the Strong Survive" REO Speedwagon

Every athlete has "The Secret of My Success" Night Ranger

Everyone can't be an Olympic Athlete. Sometimes egos are like looking through "Rose Colored Glasses" Animal Logic

But if you persevere you might achieve fame "Ladies and Gentlemen" Saliva

After all the hard work, you win a medal and you're a "Sensation" The Who

An athlete might think they are a little invincible "I am the Warrior" Patty Smyth/Scandal

An athlete might get tempted by all of the stars and adulation "Glamour Profession" Steely Dan

Too much pawtying with "Fast Company" Eagles gets an athlete in trouble - not naming any names or casting any blame .... you might smoke a little nip, sleep with a lot of women.

But we all turn into a "Couch Potato" Weird Al Yankovic watching the Olympics (I always have to include a Weird Al song in my playlists)

The Olympics is one giant "Peace Train" Cat Stevens

Hope everybody had as much fun as I did. As usual it was all to raise money for an animal charity. This month it was The Pet Samaritan Fund in the Salt Lake City, Utah area and so far we have raised over $1,300!

And don't forget to vote in the poll on my new collar (top left above).

Dudefest!

I apologize for not posting for a week. Mom has had a tough time at work. She has a very busy job and usually works way more than what she is supposed to. She had a number of big projects due this week with the deadline of today. She spent all day Friday and most of Saturday on it.

I only give you this background because as a result I missed a lot of the wonderful #Dudefest pawty. Although, we all know I was there at least 3 hours because I was a DJ. That was an experience because I DJ'd from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. EST and then at 6 a.m. But, after 7 a.m. and my work to protect some kittehs being pestered by @VampireKat, I snuggled back in bed with mom and dad for another couple of hours.

For posterity, I wanted to preserve mine and Caesar's avatar since we were two really cool dudes.

As you can see, I was working out a lot

Don't worry, they are all temporary tats

The best part of #dudefest is all the bacon - bacon beer, baconritas, bacon savory food, bacon desserts. The pawty was in celebration of my pal @Hankthedoggy's tenth birthday and the cake was a site to behold. It was topped with bacon and squirrels. And as usual we raised money for an anipal charity.

Next week if the regular monthly #pawpawty with an Elvis theme. Better start working on my hip swiggle.
