Find Your Better Half Contest

I read about this neat contest from Norwood Unleashed (part of Mango Minster) on my friends Shawnee and Frankie's blogs and decided to enter it. The rule is to find a dog that looks like you but of the opposite sex.

I knew this contest would be a cinch. I find doggies that look like me everywhere I look. Some of my Twitter pals look like me, there is a dog on Toki Poki that looks like me. We even saw a dog that looked like me at a shelter in Poland. At Christmas time I saw my doppelganger at the SPCA shelter near our house but she had already been adopted. I always say "Papa was a rolling stone!"

Sure enough, I found an opposite sex look alike on the first page I looked at on Petfinder.

Taylor is an 8 months old female German Shepherd mix. She is shy (which is not like me) but loves peanut butter in her Kong. Well, is their a dog alive that doesn't? She is in Franklin, Virginia which is not far from where we live.

National Dog Week Contest

I can't believe that mom almost made me miss the National Dog Week Dog Tongue Photo Contest. She was so busy she just got around to checking our blog roll and saw the cute tongue pictures on Sugar's blog. Mom and dad almost missed National Dog Week all together!

I have forgiven mom for her lapse since we are in time for the contest from Twinkie one of the new blogs we have found thanks to Saturday's Pet Blog Hop.

Anyway, we are supposed to share one tongue picture. Mom and dad scoured our photos and we think this is the best one.

I almost didn't recognize dad in this picture since his hair was very short here and it sure isn't now. I nearly didn't recognize me either because I was a puppy. This picture was two years ago! We like this one because it is the only picture we have that shows the black spot on my tongue. Mom decided to check into why a GSD/Black Lab would have the black spot on my tongue but apparently it is not that unusual (HUMPH) and either half of my ancestry is known to have it.

So, we all learned something new and I entered the contest! Now when I send you a Yoda Smooch, you will have advanced warning of what is coming at you.

I Got Mail and Weekend Blog Hop

This was a fantastic week! After the tragic toy loss of my Chewber (and thank you so much for all the sympathy), I was a little depressed. But then there were TWO packages that came for me.

The first was all the way from England and from @HenryandFriends. This was my pawty pwize from winning a quiz. It was really three pwizes! First a giant cheeseburger with a whopper of a squeaker! We are not sure of the name of the next toy but I call it the "mom enabled ball launcher." We all know mom is a bad thrower (remember the Chewber?) This toy should really help her throw better! The last present was kind of for my mom - an eco friendly bag for her shopping. She always needs these so she is very happy too!

And the Cheeseburger is so much fun! No onions even and I think there is some bacon in there!

Sadly for mom and dad, it seems all the packages are for me so I know it as soon as dad brings one in. Mom thought it might have been something we ordered from Nip and Bones, but no, it was my contest pwize from Two Little Cavaliers, Davinia and Indiana. I won their Skinneeez toys contest! The contest was thanks for Ethical Products Inc. who market under Spot Brand Toys. They are on Twitter and Facebook!

When mom opened the box, I had my head in it right away to see what I had!

I smell squeakers in those tails!

Yep, definitely a squeaker in there!

Aren't they cute? I got two Skinneeez toys - a raccoon and a fox. They are stuffingless and squeak in two places. The bear is a Skinneeez Big Bite which is a plush bear stuffed with a plastic water bottle. Bot does he crunch good!

And you will all be happy to know that mom ordered be 2 chewbers from Nip and Bones. They were on sale!

Contest to find the best photo caption

One of my pals was collecting pictures of friends doing a fist bump a while back and mom tried to get me to do it. The problem is I do "High Paw" so well, that I just didn't get the whole fist bump concept.

She caught this picture of me and really likes it even if it's a little blurry on account it was taken with her Blackberry in a little too dark setting. But the black background is kind of one of the things she likes about it.


Any way, she thinks my other blogging pals can help come up with a caption or description for this picture. She's gonna make it a contest and will pick a pressie appropriate for the winner.

The rules are simple: post a comment to this blog by June 30th. Mom will help pick the best responses and then we will have all of the readers of my blog vote on the best one out of that group which will then be deemed the winner.
